Improving Oral Health With School-Based Sealant Programs

In the United States, student absenteeism is largely due to medical issues, such as asthma, high levels of lead in the blood, vision problems, and dental caries.1 More than 51 million school hours are lost each year because of dental disease.2 Children who experience tooth pain cannot effectively learn the skills that are critical to their academic success.1
