Caring for Patients With Huntington’s Disease

Huntington’s disease is a devastating genetic neurodegenerative disease with no cure and a fatal outcome. It is known as the quintessential family disease, because every child with a parent who has Huntington’s disease has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the defective gene.1 Approximately 30,000 Americans have been diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, and more than 200,000 are at risk of acquiring the condition.1
