The high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) among dental professionals is well documented.1–8 Research suggests that the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal pain among dentists and dental hygienists ranges between 64% and 93%;3,4 although, the number of MSDs among dental professionals may be underreported.5 Dental hygienists in particular demonstrate high levels of MSDs.
