What is it?

The main focus of an effective infection prevention and control program is to prevent health care-associated infections in patients and prevent exposures and illnesses in clinicians. To meet these goals, dental settings must maintain an infection control and safety program consistent with current United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and relevant state and local regulations and standards.
