As the number of patients with dental implants increases and dental implant therapy assumes a greater role in dental practice, clinical investigations are focusing on the prevention and management of the diseases that affect successfully osseointegrated implants. There is considerable evidence demonstrating that patients with implants will need lifelong professional recare regimens tailored to their individual needs.
