Exploring the Impacts of Long COVID

COVID-19 infection, caused by SARS-CoV-2, was initially identified as an acute rather than chronic condition. Early in the pandemic, the medical community recognized that some patients experienced new or lingering symptoms long after their initial infection.^1,2 While COVID-19 remains a concern, the rise of chronic symptoms following the resolution of acute illness is a source of academic and research interest.¹
