    Hi everyone,

As dental hygiene students, you’re entering the profession at a really interesting (and sometimes confusing) time. Recently, there have been changes in some states that now allow dental assistants to perform supragingival scaling. For many of you who are working hard to earn your licenses, this shift might feel frustrating or even a little discouraging.

But here’s the thing—you are the <strong data-start=”636″ data-end=”664″>future of dental hygiene, and now more than ever, it’s important that you stay informed, get involved, and advocate for our profession. One of the best ways to do that is by <strong data-start=”813″ data-end=”859″>joining your local or state ADHA component. It’s a great way to stay connected, learn about legislation that impacts us, and be part of the conversation about where our profession is headed.

Despite some of the changes, there are also exciting opportunities opening up—mobile care, school-based programs, myofunctional therapy, public health roles, and more. The profession is expanding, and <strong data-start=”1210″ data-end=”1231″>our voices matter in how that expansion takes shape.

<strong data-start=”1268″ data-end=”1293″>Question for you all:<br data-start=”1293″ data-end=”1296″>What are your thoughts on the direction dental hygiene is going? How can you, as students, stay active in shaping the future of our profession instead of just reacting to changes?

Looking forward to hearing your insights and supporting each other on this journey!
