Improve Oral Health During Pregnancy

Poor maternal oral health can increase the risk of pregnancy complications, including preterm delivery, low-birth weight (LBW), gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and stillbirth.1–4 The oral health of the mother is also closely related to the oral health of the newborn.4–6 Receiving professional dental care during pregnancy is key to ensuring both oral and overall health. Dental professionals must be prepared to provide safe and effective care to this population.
