The Meaning of Tooth Migration

Diastemata, or spaces between teeth, are common findings in the daily practice of dentistry. Some develop during the mixed dentition period, but most of these gaps between teeth close following the eruption of the permanent canines. The formation of diastemata in adult patients may be a sign of oral disease, such as advanced periodontitis.
